Start It Up – December 27 Opening Day!

Yes, that is right folks, your holiday plans aren’t spoiled this year! The Mount Cain base area will be open for public operations beginning December 27, 2023!

Here’s the catch, we still don’t have enough snow to run our lifts at the time of writing this. But the forecast is looking better and I’m confident that Mount Cain is on Santa’s nice list this year. The big man always delivers!

Accommodations are booked, the road is slushy, and you can get warm by the new lodge fireplace. Come up and take a look at the changes we’ve been talking about all fall.  Go for a hike if there isn’t enough snow to fill your boots. Most importantly, climb the new staircase to Turks Tavern to enjoy friendship good cheer, and homemade meals.

Tis’ the Season to be Jolly!

Thinking of merriment, MCAPS and the Tavern Staff would like to remind all Cain visitors that if you plan to enjoy libations with your snacks and meals, having a Government ID is a requirement in your purchase of alcohol. Whether you are staff, a local, a tavern enthusiast or it’s your first time at the mountain you will be required to show your Government ID to purchase alcohol each time you make a purchase.

Let’s save you the walk back to your wallet – bring your ID in with you!

The Ski Shop is almost ready, but not quite – our Ski Shop elves have been called away to help Santa at his workshop this week. Mrs. Claus told us they would be back in time to have rentals available, ideally for December 30.

Also, The ticket booth will remain closed until we start up the lifts – look for that important information in next week’s memo.

That’s all for now friends.  Anything else can be found on the Mount Cain Website or connect with us on Facebook.

Wait, I’ve got one last request – Start-Up those Snow Dances, and never stop, never never never stop!

Merry Christmas, Erin
