Mount Cain COVID Protocols - Practicing safe skiing at Mount Cain

Masks: As per the BC Health Authority guidelines and Canada West Ski Areas Association's best practices, face coverings will be required inside all public spaces such as our ski shop as well as in lineups. Please ere on the side of caution and mask up when you are in a crowd. All employees will be required to wear masks.

Physical distancing: Follow the 2-metre rule at all times. Whether purchasing tickets, waiting in line at the T Bar, using the washroom, or renting equipment, physical distancing is mandatory. When possible, we will have markers in place to help guide you. If there are no markers please keep about a 2-ski pole distance apart.

At this time, we are unable to accommodate visitors who for medical or other reasons are exempt from wearing a mask or face covering. Simply put, if you are 12 years of age or older, you must wear an appropriate face covering (mask, buff, balaclava, neck tube) that fully covers both your mouth and nose, in all areas of the ski hill where distancing can not be guaranteed such as line ups, and inside common areas of buildings.

Wash your hands: There will be hand sanitizer located in various places for you to use. It is also recommended that you keep a small bottle in your jacket pocket so you can keep your hands clean.

If you are not feeling well, stay home: We will miss having you on the hill but would prefer that you stay home and get healthy before joining us.

Stay in your bubble or go single: Skiing with your bubble means you have people you can go up the T bar with safely. If no one from your bubble is around, you can go up single.

Ski School: All lessons will require face masks and be socially distanced. Social distancing requires that students be able to maneuver without physical aid from the instructor. If physical aid is required, a parent or partner must be present to assist. Visit our Ski School page to learn more about what types of lessons are being offered

Lodge: Take out only; no delivery of food/drinks to tables. Cafe guests are asked to sign in upon arrival, wear a mask whenever you are not sitting eating/drinking, sit at tables with only people in their Covid bubbles, and limit your time in the Cafe to 20 minutes. There is a Lodge-Host who will be enforcing these rules as well as wiping down tables/booths as groups leave the Cafe.

Shuttle: There will be NO Cain bus shuttle from the lower parking lot to the ski hill base area this season.

Accommodations: Due to the COVID protocols recommend by BC Health, our accommodations are bare bones this year. Accommodations do not have wood fireplaces, flashlights, running water (guests can carry water from the day lodge), bedding, blankets, sheets, towels, pillows, pots, pans, dishes or cutlery. Please bring everything you need for you stay – we do not have any supplies. For more details about rental options please visit or Accommodations page.
